Established in 1981, Alide Hire Services have many years’ experience providing quality hire equipment to the public and private sectors. Their customers’ preferred way of ordering has evolved over the years: orders used to be received via phone or in person, and in recent years, email was also popular. Their website did not allow online ordering, and we identified that Alide lacked a strong, cohesive digital presence that, once paired with this capability, would encourage customers to make online order submissions. We would need to rebrand and create a website with suitable functionality – their website wasn’t fit for purpose, and the user experience was complicated.

Working closely with our Creative and Digital teams, Alide were able to express their pain points, communicate their long-term ambitions and share with us their wish lists for branding alongside a new website. In addition to creating and rolling out new branding, we suggested additional features for the website that would complement the new look and feel and help simplify the customer journey. As part of a complete website redesign, we added a mega-navigation on each page with drop-down menus showing all pages and every hire category, so customers can hire what they need or discover new tools. Basket and checkout functions with the capability to select the duration of hire at product level allows for a seamless online hire experience. With no monetary transaction at checkout, Alide’s depot team instead receive an alert to call, confirm the order, take payment and arrange delivery or collection.

Once all the designs were approved and implemented, Alide launched their brand-new website. The improved functionality and branding resulted in a more positive customer experience and journey. Customers can now order online, and the client benefits from improved branding and a more substantial online presence that is up to date with customer demands.
